Who may Join?

Who may Join?

Membership is available to anyone who by education and experience is involved in the sciences or professions concerned with:

  • Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management
  • Building and engineering economics
  • Financial, resource and contractual management
  • Dispute resolution
  • Quantification of material and labour inputs for all types of building, construction and industrial projects.

Eligibility

You are eligible for Free Student Membership if you are registered in an AIQS accredited University or TAFE course. Please refer to:

You are eligible for Technician Membership if you possess a diploma from a recognised TAFE course OR possess a diploma in QS or allied discipline involving two years full time study and be in approved employment. Please refer:

You are eligible for Probationer Membership with a modified one year APC period if you are a corporate member of the following recognised Institutions:

  • The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) – Construction Faculty (entitled to use the Chartered Quantity Surveyor designation).
  • The New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS)
  • The Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS)
  • The Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia (ISM) – QS Division
  • The Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV)
  • The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) – QS Division
  • The Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS)

You may be eligible for Mature Age Entry to Associate membership if you are 45 years or over with considerable practical experience under approved supervision.
