Cadet Quantity Surveyor

Location : Sydney CBD

Reporting To: Practice Leader / Senior QS

Hours: 3 days per week (8:30am – 5pm) during University times

Full time during holidays / break

DESCRIPTION:

Mitchell Brandtman is a young vibrant company. Our family is growing and we are currently

seeking a first or second year Quantity Surveying student who is ready for lift off.

As a cadet, you will join our team of experienced and creative movers and shakers who place

You will gain first-hand experience in a broad spectrum of Quantity Surveying and Construction

Cost Management services in a wide range of industries. If you want to learn, gain experience,

build a career, have fun and earn, then this is the gig for you.

KEY AREAS

 Assist with preparation of quantities, cost estimates, cost plans and project budgeting.

 Assist with provision of post contract services including cost forecasts, budgeting,

assessment of contractual costs, claims, progress payments, preparation of reports

and the like.

 Assist with preparation of depreciation reports.

 Assist with other quantity surveying and cost management tasks.

 Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, as directed.

 Attend functions, seminars, company promotions etc…

 Source pricing and product information.

 Enter data and type / merge draft documents.

 Import external files, update project files and archive.

 Print and file drawings and photographs.

 Erect Mitchell Brandtman signs at job sites.

 Operate and maintain cameras, printers, photocopier, binding machines and

equipment.

 Maintain and order office supplies.

 Organise servicing and maintenance of office vehicles.
