About the Panelists

Moderator: Fiona Doherty FAIQS, CQS

Fiona is a National Director of AIQS, Chair of the AIQS Diversity Steering Group, and a Director at RLB.

As an experienced senior manager of more than 30 years, Fiona has worked in all areas of the property and construction industry. 

As a Certified Quantity Surveyor, she combines an excellent understanding of the most economic ways to achieve project outcomes with creative problem-solving abilities and well-honed people management skills. Fiona's experience in the public and the private sectors enables her to work effectively with teams from each environment, utilising their different advantages and managing their constraints.

Debbie Marsh MAIQS

As a National Director of AIQS, Debbie is actively involved in promoting the QS profession to a wider market with a goal of increasing the gender balance in the profession.

Debbie is Principal of her business providing QS and project management services to a wide range of clients.  Originally from the UK, she has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years, in the UK and Australia on various projects in the public and private sectors.

Based in Adelaide but with experience in projects across most of Australia, Debbie has gained knowledge and expertise with roles in quantity surveying, contract administration, estimating, and project management under various forms of procurement.

Louise Vlatko FAIQS, CQS

Louise is a Director and Co-Founder of Xmirus.  Louise has 35 years of experience in the property, construction, and major sporting events industry incorporating contracting, sub-contracting, consulting, operations, and property development. She has demonstrated expertise in cost, commercial and project management on high-profile projects in Australia and internationally, using a variety of procurement methods including design and construct, construction management, lump sum, public-private partnerships and build, own, operate, transfer for government and private sector clients.

Louise has worked on a number of high-profile projects including the Parramatta Light Rail, 2022 FIFATM World Cup Qatar, Baku 2015 1st European Games, 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and Msheireb Downtown Doha - the world’s first sustainable regeneration project.

Louise is a highly effective leader with sophisticated and interpersonal and communication skills, who has forged and nurtured excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels. With a reputation for providing value-added solutions, integrity, commitment, and professionalism ensure that there is an unerring focus on “getting it right”.

Edna Yeo MAIQS, CQS

Edna is an Associate Director with MBM, a national property and construction consultancy firm, and a past VIC Chapter President of AIQS.

Based in Melbourne, Edna has over 14 years of construction consultancy experience providing clients with cost management advice for various large-scale social infrastructure, public, and private development projects. 

Edna specialises in healthcare projects applying the knowledge and expertise gained from greenfield and redevelopment projects across the state, delivered under a range of procurement methodologies including lump sum, public-private partnerships, managing contractor, and design and construction.

Edna leads a team of 14 quantity surveyors and is proud of working in an office with an equal gender balance, providing mentoring and support to the junior members of the team.
