At this joint event conducted by AIB/AIQS and CIOB you can look forward to a presentation from our presenters, John Thomson, JBC Corporate and Ben Morton, Mendelawitz Morton about the following key areas:
- Explaining the process a building company goes through when they are placed into either administration or liquidation in order for subcontractors to sort the facts from the fiction
- Discussion around the rights and risks of being an unsecured creditor including preference payments, employees and security interests which may be registered over materials
- How to develop a business ownership and operating structure to best protect personal and business assets from a building company becoming insolvent
- How to deal with demands from liquidators and other parties following the collapse of a building company. Specifically, dealing with personal guarantees, unfunded tax debt and employee entitlements
The presentation is delivered initially by a case study which is supported by a panel discussion at the end so attendees can ask questions.
