GRADUATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR

  • We are looking for a recently graduated Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
  • The position is open and available for an immediate start.  

Skills & Attributes:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Willing to work towards membership of the AIQS or RICS
  • An ability and willingness to learn - You will be mentored by some of the best in the business, but you’ll also need to be organised and able to work unsupervised
  • Be able to think on your feet
  • Have excellent written skills
  • Have excellent measurement skills
  • An advanced knowledge of the Office 365 suite of products, plus good skills in CostX
  • A willingness to travel – once the borders open!
  • The right to live and work in Australia

 

The role:

  • Assisting the senior quantity surveyors on major and complex losses on a broad range of premises including commercial offices, retail, industrial storage, industrial processing, marine structures, civil engineering structures, roads, bridges, dams, pipelines, institutional buildings and hospitals.
  • Assisting the senior quantity surveyors on expert witness assignments, measuring and researching costs.
  • Attending site inspections to record photographic records of damage, construction detailing, materials and debris.
  • Site measurement of damaged structures sufficient to estimate the repair or replacement of major and complex loss premises.
  • Provide formula checking of complex spreadsheets before reports are drafted.
  • Perform primary auditing of cost managed progress claims and post completion claims referred by Law firms.
  • Preparation of Values at Risk estimates and reversion to prior dates including drafting reports.
