This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Company that can offer a dynamic team environment and long-term career opportunities. This key position will work closely with the senior leadership team in our Queensland Project Leaders division to ensure effective delivery of projects across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Management of cost planning including the preparation of initial budgets and detailed estimates, elemental cost plans, updating cost library and benchmark/cost analysis
  • Prepare financier reports in accordance with respective briefs, including ongoing progress reports
  • Attendance at design meetings and taking minutes as well as participation in reviews and the ability to identify any design risks
  • Prepare and establish project budgets – including the preparation of cost plans using industry methods and software adopted by Colliers
  • Administration of budgets, contract lettings, variations and anticipated costs to provide an accurate forecast final cost for the project
  • Competently fulfil the role of Superintendent under a building contract including assessing progress claims, variations, extensions of time and other functions required under building contracts

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • 5+ years’ experience within the commercial construction or related industry
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Competent in the measurement and estimating of building & civil work projects
  • Have exposure to estimating software such as Buildsoft and Cost X
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level numeracy skills
  • IT Skills - MS Office, Excel, Project, Word
  • Strong organisational skills – with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to produce work to a high standard with strong attention to detail
  • An ability to work well with others and build a positive and friendly working relationship across the team
