AIQS Int. Chapter Region 2 Event: End to End Contract Administration for Project QSs

With the global economy likely to remain subdued over the coming years, the construction industry will be operating in an increasingly challenging marketplace. It is therefore critically important to enhance the knowledge of Quantity Surveyors on effective Contract Administration, not limited to appointment of consultants, project cost management, procurement procedures, dealing with varied and additional work, preparation and evaluation of claims in construction, dispute avoidance and resolution strategies and best practices of the construction industry.

About the speakers:

Mr Bagavad EEswar S, MAIQS, CQS

Mr. Bagavad is an experienced civil engineer with profit, contract and commercial background. Holding a bachelor's degree major in quantity surveying.  Member of the AIQS UAE Branch.

Mr Lokitha Karavita MAIQS, CQS
Topic: Cost Plan, Procurement & Tendering; and Panel Discussion

Lokitha is the Current Chair and Council Member of the AIQS Region 2-UAE Chapter as well as the VP, International Chapter Region 2 for AIQS. He currently works as a Senior Contracts Engineer at TAQA Transmission.

Lokitha has over three decades of experience in pre and post contracts aspects specialising in transmission of power and water projects, oil & gas projects, airports and building services sector in an international level. He is conversant with supply chain management activities, especially procurement & tendering with the e-tendering process.

Mr Dhammika T. Gamage FAIQS, CQS
Topic: Payment application & Cost Management, Administration of Variations, Final Account; and Panel Discussion

Dhammika is a former Director, Councilor of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors for International Chapter Region 2 and Chairman of  AIQS UAE Branch. He is a certified examiner trainer / APC assessor with the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

Dhammika is the Contracts Director - National Investment Corporation, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is a professional with over 43 years of experience in pre and post contract aspects of construction industry gained through serving contractors, consultants and clients.

Mr. Ajantha Premarathna FAIQS, CQS
Topic: Dispute resolution methods/Construction Contract Claim Preparation and Claim writing; and Panel Discussion

Ajantha is a board member and former President of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors International Chapter, Region 2. He is an AIQS APC Assessor Chairman.  

 Ajantha has over 4 decades of experience in quantity surveying, contract administration and dispute resolutions in Sri Lanka, Oman and the UAE. Served many government and semi-government organisations as the head of quantity surveying and commercial departments, currently practicing as a Managing Director of his own QS consultancy firm in the UAE, KAT Project Consultancy.

Mr Kasi Viswanathan FAIQS, CQS
Topic: Consultancy Services agreements and Pre-contract services; and Panel Discussion

Kasi is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Certified Quantity Surveyor, and holds a Masters degree in construction law and arbitration. He is a member of the Executive Committee of AIQS UAE Branch.

Kasi is a professional with over 3 decades of experience with contractors and clients. He currently works as an Assistant Director - Tendering & Prequalification – Nakheel PJSC, Dubai.
