About the speakers:

Timothy Rice

With five years of industry experience, Tim is a Senior Quantity Surveyor at MBM’s Melbourne office, contributing to major developments across Victoria and South Australia. His cross-sector expertise spans health, education, commercial, and residential projects, with strengths in cost planning, value management, and post-contract administration.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics and has received multiple accolades, including the AIB Victorian Chapter Education Medal. As the President of AIQS-QSEP, he leads initiatives supporting emerging professionals within AIQS. 

Lauren Wilson

With over seven years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Lauren has made significant contributions to the construction industry. Her projects range from commercial, apartment, and industrial construction, to residential developments, school renovations, and exterior works packages. Her expertise encompasses estimating, contract and subcontractor management, dispute resolution, and contract negotiation.

Beyond her professional role, Lauren serves as an NZIQS Board Member, QSEP President, and PAQS YQS Vice-Chair. Her commitment extends to two NZIQS Working Groups, where she helps develop valuable resources to support both the Institute’s members and the broader QS community.

Imandee Jayawardena

Imandee is an emerging leader in the Australian construction industry. Originally from Sri Lanka, Imandee’s decision to pursue a career in construction was influenced by her determination to challenge the gender barriers she encountered in her home country. Now in Australia, Imandee has made significant contributions on university and public infrastructure projects where she enjoys visualising the outcomes of the cost plans she works on and how they will impact communities in future.

Notable projects that Imandee has worked on include WSU Hawkesbury Campus Agritech Hub; Water NSW - Albury Workplace; Art Gallery NSW - Brett Whiteley Studio.
