The AIQS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy matters on behalf of AIQS members. A diverse, equitable workplace is one that creates an inclusive environment that accepts each individual's differences, embraces their strengths, and provides opportunities for all staff to achieve their full potential. Diversity and equity is not limited to gender and is broadened to religious and political beliefs, ethnicity, education, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, and geographic location.

Role of the DE&I Committee

The Committee intends to provide advice on enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion across the broad quantity surveying profession by:

  • providing toolkits to assist members and their employers understand key elements and challenges around creating a diverse, equitable, inclusive plus mentally healthy workplace

  • producing a white paper on strategies to attract more women and other cultures to the broader quantity surveying profession

  • developing guidelines to support diversity, equity and inclusion plus mentally healthy workplaces in the broader quantity surveying profession

  • acting as reference group/influencer to support and advocate for diverse, equitable, inclusive and mentally healthy workplaces to AIQS Committees/Board/Chapters/members.

The Committee shall work in consultation with and support other national committees on matters of diversity, equity and inclusion.
