Discover how timber can play a key role in reducing embodied carbon in construction. Tailored for quantity surveyors, this presentation will offer insights into carbon measurement and reporting using Australian tools and standards, including NABERS, Green Star, and lifecycle assessment methods.

The webinar will be delivered by Tom Dean, a qualified quantity surveyor now working primarily in carbon planning. Tom's presentation will include real project case studies and will highlight the growing importance of carbon in cost planning. A live Q&A will provide space for questions and further discussion.

Tom Dean
Director, Carbon Planning at Slattery

Tom is the Slattery Carbon Planning Specialist. Since joining Slattery in 2007 as a Cadet, Tom has delivered some of the country’s most innovative projects.

Tom has over 15 years of experience advising government and private clients in all facets of carbon and cost management.

In 2021, Tom led the development of Australia’s first carbon planning service, now endorsed by GBCA and Property Council of Australia. Tom leads a team of Carbon Planning Specialists to work with clients towards their Carbon goals as part of an industry shift toward a net-zero future.
