The Payment Blueprint: Reforming Payment Practices in the Construction Sector
21 April @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST
$38.00 - $50.00
Late and inconsistent payments are destabilising Australia’s construction sector, restricting cashflow, jeopardising project delivery, and contributing to rising insolvencies across the industry. Join our presenter, Sam Neave, as he explores why payment reform is now critical, and how Quantity Surveyors and construction professionals can play a leading role in driving safer, more transparent financial practices.
Sam will break down the construction sector’s systemic payment challenges and introduces three key reform models: Project Bank Accounts, Deemed/Cascading Statutory Trusts, and Retention Trusts. Viewers will learn how these frameworks protect subcontractors, reduce cashflow risk, and prevent the project‑to‑project cross‑subsidisation that often contributes to insolvency. Drawing on local and international case studies, Sam will look at what is working, what isn’t working, and what reforms could mean for cost management, contract administration and risk allocation.
Join this webinar to better understand the evolving payment landscape and learn how you can help to shape a more secure, sustainable construction sector.
