Member grade is for professionals who wish to have their qualifications, skills, and experience verified, stay up-to-date with profession and industry-related information, grow their professional networks, and contribute to advancing the profession.
Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS)
All new members granted Member grade will also receive the Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS) designation. The CQS designation is available to Voting members (Member and Fellow grades).

Eligibility
To attain Member grade, applicants must fulfil one of the following criteria:
Hold an AIQS-accredited degree or recognised academic degree (minimum AQF Level 7), and a minimum of three years of quantity surveying experience.
or
Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (AQS Level 7) or no academic qualifications, and a minimum of nine years of quantity surveying experience.
or
Hold the equivalent of Member grade membership with another organisation with which we have a current Mutual Recognition Agreement.
How to Apply

Our Membership Team will assess your eligibility and provide the appropriate application form.

Complete and submit your application form along with any requested documentation.

Complete and pass the AIQS Code of Conduct Quiz.

Once your application has been reviewed, you will sit an APC Interview (online or face-to-face).

If successful, you will become a Member and attain the Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS) designation.
APC Interview and Competencies
Member grade applicants must be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency across a minimum of eight of the Competency units, of which at least four units must be from two of the three Core Competency areas, to be successful in their APC Interview.
