Webinar Comparing SMM between Malaysia and Australia

11 December @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am SGT

$38.00 - $50.00

This webinar will provide a comparative overview of the Malaysian Standard Method of Measurement for Building Works Third Edition (SMM3) and the Australian and New Zealand Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works 2022 Edition (ANZSMM 2022), focusing on key measurement elements.

The webinar aims to provide quantity surveyors and construction industry practitioners with a clearer understanding of regional measurement practices and how these standards support project delivery.

The presentation will cover major elements, highlighting differences in quantification methods and unit conventions. Comparative insights will help us explore opportunities for cross-border alignment and innovation in measurement practices. With Malaysian SMM3 and Australian and New Zealand ANZSMM 2022 promoting a structured tabulated format of measurement standard, it leads to a Building Information Modelling (BIM) friendly approach suited for modern procurement and digital workflows.

With a background in quantity surveying consultancy experience in Malaysia for about eight years, applying the Malaysian Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works Second Edition (SMM2) in practice, it is a game-changer when looking into the preparation of Bills of Quantities from what has been practiced and what the new exploration begins with an optimistic perspective.
