Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

TQM Design & Construct is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our Sydney team. Based in our Wolli Creek office, this role will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project budgets, and providing cost advice across a range of commercial and residential construction projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for tenders, feasibility studies and project budgets

• Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and project documentation

• Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for construction projects

• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing

• Prepare tender submissions and participate in bid review processes

• Monitor project costs and provide financial reporting throughout the construction lifecycle

• Identify cost risks and provide value engineering and cost-saving recommendations

• Assist with procurement and subcontractor evaluation

• Support the project team with cost planning and commercial advice

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong estimating and cost management experience within the construction industry.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years experience in estimating or quantity surveying

• Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement and project delivery

• Experience preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions

• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
