In helping to support timely and consistent project assessments, the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) have asked AIQS to remind all members of the following:
It is compulsory for Quantity Surveyors to:
- align with the AIQS Estimated Development Cost (EDC) Practice Standard, and
- use the appropriate Standard Form when preparing EDC Reports.
DPHI is pleased to see generally strong conformance across most submissions and appreciate the profession’s commitment to quality. In March 2025, DPHI commenced the process of periodically reviewing EDC Reports. In the first review, DPHI found one EDC Report that was undeniably not following the AIQS EDC Practice Standard. This matter has been taken very seriously and is currently going through a formal complaints process.
AIQS would like to remind members that adherence is compulsory to all requirements specified in AIQS Practice Standards.
