Home About AIQS Governance

The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors is committed to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations. Our governance framework is designed to serve our members, the quantity surveying profession, and the broader built environment.

Board of Directors

The AIQS Board of Directors governs AIQS and governs under the AIQS Constitution and By-Laws, the Board Charter, the Board of Directors and Governance Guidelines, the Code of Conduct, and is subject to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and other relevant legislative requirements.

The role of the AIQS Board of Directors is to oversee policies, strategic development, and financial performance, set regulations, and appoint and monitor the performance of the Chief Executive Officer.

Chapters

To support the Board of Directors, AIQS has Chapter Councils in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC/TAS, SA/NT, WA, and an International Chapter consisting of two Regions.

AIQS Chapter Councils represent members across different states, territories, regions, and countries, facilitating local engagement and activities.

Ethical Standards

AIQS is dedicated to maintaining ethical standards within the profession. We have established comprehensive complaints handling and disciplinary procedures to address any concerns regarding member conduct. Our Risk Management Policy and Action Plan assist in identifying and mitigating risks that may impact our strategic and operational objectives.
